Samuel Bianchini

He lives and works in Paris. His work is regularly exhibited in France and abroad. To further his research work into the impact of interactive media upon our processes of picturing, and our relationship with, reality, he has worked alongside scientists and research laboratories specialising in engineering technology. Maintaining a close bearing to his work as an artist, Samuel Bianchini has undertaken theoretical work which is published on a regular basis: Éditions du Centre Pompidou, Éditions Jean-Michel Place, MIT Press, Hermes, etc.

Born in Nancy in 1971, he studied art from different standpoints : Fine Art,( Post graduate degree, École régionale des Beaux-arts de Nantes), the Decorative Arts (Ensad, École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs, Paris), Applied Arts (Ensaama, École nationale supérieure des arts appliqués et des métiers d'art, Paris), Arts et crafts (Cnam, Paris) et plastic arts (Université Paris 1 - Panthéon-Sorbonne).

After defending his doctoral thesis at the Palais de Tokyo - Site de création contemporaine with a one-man exhibition, he is today a member of the Calhiste laboratoires (Université de Valenciennes) et Lam / Citu (Laboratoire des arts et médias, Université Paris 1 Panthéon – Sorbonne / Création interactive transdisciplinaire universitaire, laboratories federation of the Paris 1 and Paris 8 Universities ). He is a lecturer at the University of Valenciennes, France, and speaks and collaborates on “research and conception” at the l'École nationale supérieure d'art de Nancy as well as in the course on research, concept-genesis and innovation at the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs (Paris).
