Dean of the Faculty of Arts and professor at the University of Quebec in Montreal where she has run the Media related arts research team (GRAM ) since 1989. From 2001 until 2006, she also ran the inter-university media-related arts Group, the CIAM, which allies research fellows from Concordia, McGill, the University of Montreal, and the UQAM.

She has written many pieces of work and articles in the sphere of media related arts which have been published in several journals in Canada, France and the United States. Amongst other work carried out, she has piloted the drafting and the translation of a dictionary on media related arts (1997) published at PUQ in French, and in English, by sections, in the Leonardo magazine with MIT Press. An electronic version is available of the internet. This encyclopaedic version involves the participation of artists from the international community whose work is shown through extracts.

Her current work is centred on new technologies put into practice in the sphere of the performing arts, as well as about biotechnology when applied to the arts.
