Versed in transfer of technology and the setting up of pilot studies between the worlds of culture and research since 1993, he was first scientific evaluation Supervisor at Ircam where he designed what was at that time, a new socio-economic model for the circulation of music software ( Ircam Forum), followed up by, in 1995, the "On Line Studio" telematic services for the distance processing of sound specimens.
Since 2000 he has set up more than twenty or so national and European projects
including one involving a HIFI channel of tomorrow, in collaboration with
Sony and the Fraunhofer Institute and has participated in the works on MPEG7
standardisation. In January 2002 he launched and directed Les Résonances,
International forums on Technologies for Music and the Ircam hypermedia
studio, to prototype and confirm musical analysis tools and editing of new
supports (Web Radio, Ecoutes signées on the Web and DVDrom, system DVD à
la carte, Music Lab software for State Schools and conservatoires ).
He was European Vice Chairman of the International Music Information Technology
Association (ICMA) until January 2004.
Assistant director since April 2006 of the Department of Cultural Development responsible for the Institute of Research and Innovation which is working on the cultural and cognitive technologies developing, notably, in the framework of the ANR Ciné-Lab annotation tools for cine-film and conferences ( Lignes de temps software), an in-concert site for the exchange of annotation ( L'Amateur) and teamed systems to mobile-phones.
